June 3, 2002 Rumsey Engineers Receives ASHRAE National Technology Award Oakland, Calif.— ASHRAE The American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers has presented Rumsey Engineers with one of the Society’s prestigious 2002 National Technology Award. The ASHRAE Technology Award recognize outstanding achievements by members who have successfully applied innovative building design in the areas of occupant comfort, indoor air quality and energy conservation. Their designs incorporate ASHRAE standards for effective energy management and indoor air quality. Performance is proven through one year’s actual, verifiable operating data. Awards are given on a regional level with winners moving on to the national competition. Rumsey Engineers first won the Bay Area Chapter Awards in the Public Assembly, Exisiting Facility category, qualifying them for the national awards where they received an Honorable Mention for their innovative Oakland Museum of California installation. Peter Rumsey, founder and president of Rumsey Engineers is pleased with the national recognition.
