Rumsey Engineers and Rocky Mountain Institute Announce Alliance
Peter Rumsey Named Senior Fellow of RMI

Oakland, CA - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rumsey Engineers today announced that they have entered a collaborative alliance with Rocky Mountain Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in Snowmass, Colorado. The objectives of the alliance include joint development of methodologies, cross-training of staff, strategic market development, sharing of technical and marketing resources, and deployment of comprehensive capabilities that will serve their respective missions.

As part of the alliance, RMI has also named Peter Rumsey a Senior Fellow of Rocky Mountain Institute. RMI's Senior Fellowship program is reserved for experts in their respective fields who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership over a period of ten or more years. Marty Pickett, RMI's Executive Director remarked that "RMI is pleased and honored to add Mr. Rumsey to our roster of distinguished Senior Fellows. We have worked with Peter on many projects over the years and look forward to a more formal and interactive relationship."

"Buildings gobble close to 40 percent of the energy used annually in the United States to heat, cool, ventilate, light, and support other operations," said RMI Senior Director Kyle Datta. "Having Peter join the Institute specifically to work on the building sector is vital to the success of the Institute's mission."

According to Peter Rumsey, president of Rumsey Engineers, "It's a great honor for my company, and for me personally, to enter into this alliance with RMI and to accept the offer of Senior Fellowship. Over the past generation, RMI has done more to positively impact the global energy policy debate than any single organization in the world. We look forward to a fruitful period of collaboration, innovation, and change as a direct result of our combined efforts."
